Back to school time for us and we are shifting from trying to maintain momentum and knowledge during the summer to balancing schoolwork with hobbies and fun at home. This extends especially to bedtime stories. We love reading together as a family, so when I find books related to my passions and hobbies it is especially fun to share them with my sons. Who knows, they may become knitters themselves one day, but at the very least they can catch a glimpse into why I find knitting so fun and enriching – and how truly special those handknits we give them are.
Here are some favourite books for children about knitting:
Extra Yarn by Mac Barnett and Jon Klassen
Tickle Time!: A Boynton on Board Board Book (Boynton Board Books)
The Knitting Gorilla (World of Happy)
The Truly Terribly Horrible Sweater…That Grandma Knit
A Hat for Mrs. Goldman: A Story About Knitting and Love
Annie and the Swiss Cheese Scarf
