Follow me on Instagram

I joined Instagram a couple years ago because I’m a visual person and wanted to share the beauty around me with others. The photos I share are probably 40% food, 40% knitting and crafts, 15% Cork City, and 5% style and my son. That isn’t set in stone, it is just seems to be my habit the past few months. I enjoy seeing photos shared from around the world and have met a few really cool people through mutual admiration on Instagram.

I’ve never really make a big deal that I’m on there so it came as a bit of a surprise when I noticed my followers were climbing last week. I Tweeted about it and someone replied that I was included in a popular blog’s post which was the likely cause…

You Should Be Following

I was honored, speechless, and did a happy dance most of the day. Being listed in the top 20 Irish Instagram foodie accounts to follow is awesome enough, but being 13th on that list made it just epic since 13 is my lucky number! And the photo that was selected to accompany that was taken last week during brunch at Liberty Grill here in Cork City.

Which leads me to believe that if you are on Instagram, you should pop over and follow me there to see all food, knitting, craftiness, and life in Cork freshly captured by me and shared with you daily. Yeah, and it’s free. I’m including a few of my more popular photos I’ve shared on Instagram.

And the money shot from the setup shown in the previous photo... Strawberry Mascarpone Tart from #BakeKnitSew Time to choose two sweets as a treat. Love the old-fashioned sweet shops! I rediscovered this hibernating WIP. Love the plum moments in the yarn. I'm digging my new dress and leggings. Comfort and style wrapped up in a pretty package. Homemade soft pretzels, fresh from the oven. My little man is such a city kid. A moment preserved from our morning walk today. I believe in Spring! It's coming for me, I just know it. Designing custom dishes is easy enough with porcelain paint! Read my tutorial on @Wayfair: http://www.wayfair.co.uk/Inspiration/Valentines-Day-Family-Breakfast-E6647 Special mother-son lunch date at @fennsquayrestaurant. We shared plaice goujons and chunky chips. I love my skirt. Perfect for grey wintry days. And it goes with almost everything. It was a mini but I lengthened it by extending from the waist and added an orange contrast edge and fun back button.

Also keep in mind, there are hundreds of thousands of talented bloggers and photographers out there sharing their heart and soul in words or photos, so keep an eye out for them too because you never know where a smile will be found. Here are a few accounts I follow on Instagram:

@BrightBazaar – color, style, interior design, and travel LDN

@FennsQuayRestaurant – restaurant kitchen IE

@LifeIsSweetNI – baked goods NI

@LillyH – food and life IE

@Bibliocook – food and beer IE

@MaggieONeillFineArt and @Maggie_E_ONeill – art and interior design DC

@AstridBrucker – fashion NYC

@FionaDillon1 – food and farm IE

@Chestnut_Hill_College – university campus of my alma mater Philly

@SallyMcKenna – food and life IE

@McNaga2 – city moments SoCal

…it is clear that this list is getting very very long so perhaps I’ll pick this up in a future blog post. How in the world did Niall Harbison keep his list to just 20??!

Of course, if you prefer words to photos, maybe Twitter is more your thing. Either way, same user name: FreckledPast.
