Six years ago, my friend Nadia of Cottage Notebook knitted owlet by Kate Davies from Kate Davies Designs and it has been enjoyed by a few babies until now when my baby AH is the latest to wear it.
The 12-month size is generous and comfortable, without the challenge of big baby heads or squirmy baby arms. With 3,429 projects, it is no wonder this Kate Davies classic has become a classic for baby wear.
You may remember I wrote about my OWLS Sweater (owls by Kate Davies) recently and so when Nadia loaned me her Owlet for AH to enjoy for the winter, we took the opportunity to venture to Ballysaggartmore Towers for a little photoshoot.
Here is a photo of the two of us wearing our green OWLS sweaters, plus some closeups.
The cabling is beautiful and not overwhelming on such a tiny person.
The ample collar size is ideal for ease of wearing (and getting it on and off).
And the hem and cuffs have sturdy ribbing that keeps the breezes out.
You can see the bronze beads used in place of eyes for the cabled owls.
What do you think about matching mother-son sweaters? Have you knit the OWLS Sweater or OWLET Sweater? Can you tell we love green in my family.
