This is my 28th Brilliant Things List! And my 272nd EvinOK post. Very exciting though non-traditional milestones. I like to celebrate the little steps along the way, not just the round numbers. So, today is a post with some random things I have been eyeing lately. A few things are for my son, LB, who is about to turn three. But most things are for me. Because most days I’m lucky if my teeth are brushed or I get a shower. On really special days, I get to do both! So, these lists are just as much about things I love as things I think my little man would. I rarely consider my husband with these though because these lists are so not his thing. He doesn’t do lists. If he sees something he wants and has space for it in his life, he buys it. If he doesn’t have space for it or if it is poor quality, he doesn’t get it. Ah, the simplicity. As opposed to LB when he sees a toy car and all he thinks is WANT. No concept of the collection of vehicles at home that would make Jay Leno green with envy.
I’ve been eyeing this book for MONTHS! And now it is on sale. Like REALLY on sale. And who knows for how long. I am tempted to buy one for myself and one for a Christmas gift. Could be for anyone actually. Paul Lowe is brilliant!
While packing I realised I don’t have a purse or handbag in good shape that folds for easy packing in my backpack. I like to have my purse packed in my backpack or laptop bag for travel. So eyeing these options.
So, we’re about to visit our families back home so I think it would be wise to invest in a new car seat. The current one is nearly two years old and though only used for five weeks in that time, LB is approaching the maximum weight for its design. I’m eyeing this one because it has versatility and the colour is nice.
Did you know Amazon sells Mattresses? I find this mind-boggling. I mean, do they make Amazon boxes that big? We will need one for LB’s new big boy bed at my parents’ house, which is actually my childhood bed (and my father’s childhood bed) reassembled from the storage room. Another generation of sweet dreams and possibly another coat of paint. I think one of these or a combination will do the trick:
Though also cool to see rollaway beds have improved a lot.
And for the trip home, I will, of course, be filling my luggage with these treasures:
One dozen jars of Frontera Salsa Medium Tomatillo — 16 oz or if the shipping cost on that is per jar, I’d rather have this set of 12 Frontera Foods Inc. Salsa, Tomatillo, Medium, 16-Ounce (Pack of 6)
Unrelated to the trip, I think these books and toys would be a fun for LB:
Then there are practical things that I’ve found I can’t live without. Like…
A little obsessed with cleaning lately, aren’t I? Something about visiting my parents who have two dogs (to whom I am allergic) makes me want to clean.
And for something completely impractical. Though it would be fun for hanging necklaces!
Not as brilliant as usual, but so focused on the trip, my book, and the Blog Awards Ireland outcome, I’m a distracted shopper. What are you eyeing lately?
