Hello, Mr. Roboto Man, Let’s Craft

My friend Suzi LOVES quirky things, including robots and when I saw these patterns, I thought of her, which is always a happy thing to do. You may recall hearing about Suzi before in this post and this post and this post. She’s totally worth writing about again though so, as you read this, think of your cool friends who enjoy fun things and make you smile when you get to see them. And while you’re thinking, here are some amazing robot patterns for knitters, sewers, and crafty creative textile lovers of human and robot origins.
This photo is actually of my own project that was very budget-minded and rather fun and easy. I hunted down a robot patch and ironed on then sewed around with coordinating metallic thread then added little swirls near his head and on the pockets. It was for Suzi for a secret gift exchange. The hoodie I used was on clearance for €4 which made my budget feel like a mint.

Mr. Robot

Of course, our favourite robot is R2D2 (and C3P0) and this is a Fair Isle hat I knit a few years ago. I actually wrote a long blog post all about knitting it since it was only my second Fair Isle project ever.

I’ve not made these yet but I’m admiring…

Christina from 3 Sweet P’s has an Applique Robot that looks great on a boy’s tee.
Have you made any robots lately? Who’s your favourite, R2D2 or C3P0? Or Number Five from Short Circuit?
