On July 20th, I joined the America’s Knitting contingent at the 13th annual Mariners Stitch n Pitch night to cheer on the Seattle Mariners. A plan formed when I was still in Ireland to meet up and when the event proved to coincide with my visit to Seattle, Mary and I leapt at the chance to meet in person after years of online friendship. So, there we were finally meeting at the 13th annual Mariners Stitch N Pitch Night.
The evening flew by and was delightful. I also spent time with my friend-of-a-friend Margot and her knitting friends. I am sharing all the photos here so you can get a feel for the event. I had no idea what to expect and it far exceeded what I could have imagined.
I took the light rail to the stadium all by myself (no kids!)
In spite of not being asked “Are we there yet?” every two minutes, I arrived promptly and safely.
The special event goodies were knitting needle case rolls in custom fabric!
The top concourse was adorned with yarn shops which had set up booths for our perusal and temptation. I bought TWO things! One for me, and one for a birthday gift. Where else can you shop for yarn while admiring the Seattle skyline and bay?
Yes, that IS the Space Needle in the distance.
Pacific Fabrics was a large presence.
Bainbridge Island destination Churchmouse Yarns & Tea was there.
The first pitch was thrown out by local Stitch N Bitch leader
We had lots of knitting and stitching company in the seats.
Seahawks color way!
I got carded.
Ok, now a big collection of yarn photos from Seattle Mariners – Stitch N Pitch Night
