There is nothing quite like the chance to bake with a good friend, except maybe baking with my son. Oh wait, what about baking with everyone together? Yes. Three cheers for family baking day! That’s just what we did! We visited Jeni and her family who led a cookie baking adventure for my son. Though her sugar cookie recipe isn’t posted on her blog (Jen’s Kitchen) YET, her Christmas cookie recipe is, which has a similarly mouth-watering effect when I read it. But to get you in the cookie baking spirit, here are some photos of our baking day.
My son’s favourite color is light green or bright green, so the icing HAD to be this…
Isn’t it just amazing?
Everyone got in on the icing action.
It didn’t have to be perfect, but imperfection is, in its own way, a type of perfection because it captures the moment.
No one ever said, “No, we don’t need sprinkles,” with a straight face.
Just a few more.
It was an eclectic mix of cookie shapes.
And while all that was happening, Jeni herself was preparing to bake a pumpkin pie!
What is your favorite family baking day thing to make?
