In early 2018 my friend Marseille knit Gridelin by Hunter Hammersen and I have been curious about the result ever since. Finally, I got to squish it and try it on and it is so lovely. Obviously, I then coaxed Marseille into snapping some photos and letting me blog about it. Here’s the scoop on this beautifully textured wrap that is a very flexible pattern.
The Pattern & Process
Hunter Hammersen has done it again with a richly textured flexible wrap pattern in Gridelin. The pattern can be made with 200 – 500 yards (183 – 457 m). She explains about the pattern, “Totally flexible, keep knitting until you reach the size you like best! Shown here with a 40 inch wingspan and using 350 yards of yarn.” I love that!
The pattern is knit in DK and from Hammersen’s book, Curls.
The Yarn
Marseille knit it up with Done Roving Yarns DK Gradient Transitions in a blue-purple colorway, which she purchased at Knits and Pieces in Annapolis, Maryland. The plum-like hues are brilliant for stitch definition.
The Result
The result is squishy and lovely. Perfect size for an accent piece, a bit of neck warmth, or to tuck at the neckline of an overcoat. Stunning texture.
Hi Evin, how are you? I was looking to learn knitting myself, have you any new posts about knitting groups in Cork. Thanks so much.
Hoping to hear from you.

Since the lockdowns, I’m not sure which city knitting groups are meeting again. There were three or four groups before the pandemic though. We can always meet up sometime if you want.
