As you may have already read, my Knitmas Elf knit and gave me a stunning kerchief/shawlette this year. She noticed I had queued The Age of Brass and Steam by Orange Flower Yarn but hadn’t had the chance to knit it so she took the initiative in one of my favourites colors…yellow!
For anyone who is looking for a simple stockinette-based shawl to show off a hand-dyed yarn, this might do the trick. Sometimes I wonder how a shawl really looks and feels, so hopefully this will help you decide if Age of Brass and Steam is collecting dust in your Ravelry queue too. I know one of my 2015 resolutions is to knit more with my existing stash, so recognising what items in my queue really look like in real life (just just draped on something for a beautiful photo) will play a big part.
