Spiced Nuts in the Air Fryer

Crunchy, savoury, sweet, and packed with protein? It’s spiced nuts, Union Square style.

You know since 2014, I’ve been hooked on my variation of Union Square Spiced Nuts so I thought I’d update my last recipe post with how to make these more-is nuts in an air fryer. Now, let’s get your kitchen smelling amazing thanks to your air fryer. For mine, I’m using my Ninja Foodie (affiliate link – see disclosure for more info).

Air Fryer Union Square Spiced Nuts

(original recipe here and in the official cookbook available from Amazon.com and Amazon.co.uk)

1 cup of shelled unsalted roast pistachios
1 cup of shelled unsalted roast cashews
1 cup of shelled unsalted pecan halves
2 1/2 tablespoons unsalted butter
2 tablespoons finely chopped fresh rosemary leaves
2 tablespoons brown sugar
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1/2 teaspoon fine sea salt (omit this if you’re using salted roast nuts)

1. Preheat your air fryer for 3 minutes.

2. Place the nuts in the air fryer and cook for 2 minutes at a time, stirring between increments.  Do not cook for more than 7 minutes.

3. While the nuts are air-frying, microwave the butter in a glass or ceramic pie dish on half-power to melt it, then stir in the rosemary, brown sugar, cayenne pepper and salt. Blend completely so it looks like a buttery spice rub.

4. When the nuts are done, transfer them carefully into the hot buttery mixture and stir to coat. Once evenly coated and all the spices are distributed onto the nuts, ladle them into serving bowls and enjoy!
