In my latest post bragging about my talented friend Marseille‘s beautiful crafting, I’m writing about her knitting Full Spectrum Hat by Andrea Rangel. This reversible hat is such fun and lovely colors.
The Pattern & Process
The hat pattern is knit from crown to crown, with the brims in-between, giving it a seamless approach. The intricate design gives great visual interest and double the warmth.
Starting with one crown, the hat knitting begins. Then increases and the brim to complete one side of the hat, followed by another brim and decreases to the second crown. Ta-da!
The Yarn
Marseille knit her Full Spectrum Hat with the recommended Gauge Dye Works CLASSIC: Merino Twist Self Striping yarn in the Full Spectrum colorway. The pattern includes specific directions for yarn substitutions.
The Result
The soft, but sturdy hat is a beautiful result. Marseille nearly didn’t get it back when I tried it on. The merino was SO soft! The double layer of knitting made the hat very warm and cosy. It would be a perfect project for an autumn or winter knit and a thoughtful gift for anyone moving to a cold climate.
Design aside, the colors are not limited to the kit and specific yarn. You can knit this with your favorite fingering yarn for a reversible double-thickness hat in your desired color or colors.
