Farran Baby Booties

These cosy Farran Baby Booties are knit with garter stitch on the soles for extra cushiness. Knitting a taller ankle section gives ample overlap with trousers or leggings for warmth. These booties are perfect for pre-walkers. Knit with DPNs using the beautiful Nua sport weight yarn, they’re treasured favourite baby booties waiting for a special pair of feet. The name is inspired by the nature walks my family takes in Farran Wood. Sizes available: Preemie (0-12 months, 12–18 months).

The Yarn

153 yards (1×50-gram ball) Nua sport weight yarn (Carol Feller‘s yarn line) or equivalent weight yarn. I used the gender neutral and earthy Frog On The Wall colorway. The the natural beauty of West Cork’s Farran Wood (photo above) inspired me to choose a vibrant green yarn for this design.

The Country Living Baby Knits Series

In early Spring 2018, Country Living of Irish Farmers Journal featured a four-part series with original baby and child-focused knitting designs by me. The four designs in the series were:
