We make our own easy homemade salsa at home with my quick recipe which I use again and again. Here is the basic formula…
Easy Homemade Salsa at Home
1 can chopped tomatoes (no herbs or flavours)
1 bunch of cilantro/coriander, just the leaves
1 clove of raw garlic, minced finely
2 shallots, minced finely
juice from 1 lime
1 jalepeno pepper, chopped (optional)
- Place all the ingredients in food processor.
- Blend and chop.
- Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator until time to serve.
That is it. Very simple, no frills, and fresh approach to salsa. I opt for the canned tomato because it is more flavourful and a reliable source year-round. The other ingredients are all items we always have in our fridge or flower pots, so salsa cravings can be satiated without running to the store.
