You know how some people are with occasionally just needing a good stiff drink? Well, I’m that way about a tea party. Occasionally, I just need one. For whatever reason, the festivities revive my spirit, especially when I’m the only female in the house.
So, here are some basics on how to throw your own little (or big) tea party.
1. Tea sandwiches. Crustless. Cut into finger lengths or quarter squares. Cheddar & tomato relish. Smoked salmon and butter. Egg salad. Cucumber and creme fraiche. Don’t include ingredients that cause bad breath or herbs that get stuck in teeth.
2. Tasty cakes. Petite fours. Lemon drizzle. Victoria sponge.
3. Scones. Butter, jam, and clotted cream too.
4. Tea. A selection of herbal and caffeinated is optimal. Iced tea is practical if in summer and Americans will be present.
5. Nice table presentation.
