I’m still on the road (until next week), so this is a brief blog post. But I’ll be back next week with new projects. Hopefully by then I will have absorbed the news that I’m the best craft blogger in Ireland. I’m still pinching myself over that! But for today, I’m visiting my alma mater in Philadelphia so let’s talk about one of my favourite hobbies in my high school and university years – jewellery crafts!
Last year, I fell for a necklace in Penney’s (like Target for Ireland/UK). Well, part of a necklace. It had a strand of silvery flowers with sparkles in the front and chain on the sides around to the clasp in the back. I really wasn’t fond of the chain and it felt like it was trying to be glamourous but the chain really was generic. But the flowers were beautifully shaped.
So, I bought three of them and using my needle-nosed pliers I pieced them together to be one continuous strand of the flowers.
Here they are on my desk to see if the spacing would work.
It took all of 30 minutes to accomplish this and the three necklaces cost about €20 combined. Not bad considering when I wear it no one imagines it’s from Penney’s.
What cheap jewellery find have you turned into something glamourous lately?
