How to Make Kale Chips in an Air Fryer

Kale chips are a healthy and delicious alternative to traditional potato chips. My cousin Katie makes THE BEST ones and I could eat a whole head of kale prepared in this way. Ok, two heads. Surprisingly, they’re easy to make in an air fryer and can be seasoned with a variety of different spices and seasonings.

Here’s how to make kale chips in an air fryer:

  1. Prepare the kale: Start by washing and drying the kale. Remove the kale leaves from the thick stems and tear the leaves into bite-sized pieces.
  2. Season the kale: Place the kale in a large bowl and add a tablespoon of olive oil, a pinch of salt and any other seasonings of your choice. Toss the kale until it is evenly coated.
  3. Cook the kale: Place the kale in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Cook the kale at 375°F (190°C) for about 6-8 minutes or until the kale is crispy and lightly browned, shaking the basket halfway through the cooking time.
  4. Serve and enjoy: Once the kale is crispy and cooked through, remove it from the air fryer and serve immediately. Kale chips are best eaten when they’re freshly made, but if you have any leftovers, store them in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days.

You can play around with different seasonings and herbs like garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, and nutritional yeast to give your kale chips a flavor that you like.

Keep in mind that the cooking time may vary depending on the thickness of the kale leaves, so it’s best to keep an eye on them and adjust the cooking time accordingly.
