To celebrate the anniversary of Kate Davies’s OWLS pattern, she shared an Instagram post which elicited memories and reflections from her community about what OWLS meant to us. I commented, “I had a tough recovery after open liver resection for a giant tumor and @wyvernfriend2 offered to knit me an OWLS if I provided the yarn. Sometimes someone does something so kind and generous, you wonder what you did to deserve it. That will always stick with me as one of the most wonderful things anyone has ever done for me. I wear it all the time.”
And a while later, KDD reached out to me to say how touching my comment was and if they could send me a KDD Originals knit snood as a gift. I was bowled over and truly touched. I was blessed enough to have my friend knit me OWLS almost six years ago, and now another gift with such warmth and kindness? I chose the North Star Snood (read about it in Kate Davies’s words here) and it arrived. I want to share some photos. It came in a special drawstring bag! Before I forget, if you want to buy one, here’s the link.
I just love it and it is so warm.
